In an extraordinary gesture, Walton Development and Management donated $25,000 to the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center on October 18, 2013 — making it the largest contribution that our nonprofit has received in this fiscal year.
“An unrestricted gift of this size gives us tremendous flexibility in serving victims of abuse,” according to HCWC Executive Director Marla Johnson. “Honestly, a good deal of our funding is restricted. But right now, thanks to Walton, we can instantly direct our resources wherever the need is greatest — to serve victims of child abuse, family violence and sexual assault.”
“Being a good steward in the communities in which we operate is a fundamental objective at Walton,” said Alexa C. Knight, President of Walton Development and Management / Central USA. “Our mission is to provide opportunities and assistance to children and families, and we are glad that this mission is shared by HCWC.”
Walton is dedicating significant resources towards developing San Marcos’ residential and commercial infrastructure, particularly in the city’s east-side Gaslamp District. “As San Marcos grows, so does the need for essential services like those provided by HCWC,” said Marla Johnson. “It is a blessing for a farsighted community partner like Walton to help us stay ahead of the curve in serving survivors of abuse.”
